May 17th (Saturday) is the 8th Congressional District Convention, which requires pre-registration with your local party organization (e.g Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Fairfax, etc.) Visit http://www.va8gop.org/campaing/convention08.php right away to see registration deadlines. The deadline for Arlington residents was February 27.
The deadline for Fairfax is today (March 29). Please get a friend to register with you today
and plan on attending on May 17. To be elected are the District Republican Chairman for 2008-10; 3 members to the Republican State Central Committee for 2008-12; 3 Delegates and 3 Alternate Delegates to the Republican National Convention; 1 Presidential Elector to serve on the Electoral College.
The 8th District Convention will be held at the Thomas Jefferson Middle School, 125 Glebe Road in Arlington. Registration is from 8 to 10 am, and the convention starts at 10 am.
Club member Jeffrey Miller will be a candidate for 1 of the 3 8th District seats on the State Central Committee. This is a competitive race and Jeff could use your support.
The Only Question That Matters:Do People Choose Their Sexual Orientation?
Noted author Chandler Burr has written a new white paper for the Liberty Education Fourm. Burr's white paper clearly demonstrates that we already know the answer to this question--people don't choose their sexual orientation. This has important political implications and it's a powerfull tool for achieving equality.
Barry Goldwater, speaking in 1981: "I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that, if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in A, B, C, or D . . . .I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate."
