Log Cabin Endorses Sen. John McCain for President Gov. Sarah Palin for Vice President |
McCain's gay Q&A at the Washington Blade |
Because of our agreement on issues that unite all Americans, we support Sen. John McCain for President. There’s simply no doubt he’ll run an inclusive administration, even if he is not where he should be on all of our issues. He was outspoken in his opposition to the federal marriage amendment, which if passed, would have made marriage equality in Massachusetts, California, and elsewhere impossible. He will no doubt continue the presidential executive order banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in federal hiring, and he is willing to revisit the unfair policy of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell that prevents gay and lesbian Americans from openly serving their country. Quotable Quotes |
Richmond Times-Dispatch Friday, February 17, 2006 Barry Goldwater, speaking in 1981: "I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that, if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in A, B, C, or D . . . .I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate." |
